Apple to use green power for main data center

SAN FRANCISCO: Apple plans to power its main US data center entirely with renewable energy by the end of this year, taking steps to address longstanding environmental concerns about the rapid expansion of high-consuming computer server farms.
The maker of the iPhone and iPad said on Thursday it was buying equipment from Sun Power Corp and start-up Bloom Energy to build two solar array installations in and around Maiden, North Carolina, near its core data center.

Nvidia, Intellectual Ventures jointly buy IPWireless patents

NEW YORK: Nvidia, a maker of graphics processors, has teamed up with Intellectual Ventures to jointly acquire about 500 patents from IPWireless.
The portfolio covers patents for technology known as long- term evolution, or LTE, as well as for 3G and 4G networks, Santa Clara, California-basedNvidia and Intellectual Ventures, based in Bellevue, Washington, said in a statement today. Terms weren't disclosed.

Cryptography: An inception of Encryption Techniques

The name Cryptography comes from the greek words Crypto, which means hidden, and graphy, which means writing. Cryptography is defined in the dictionary as, “the art of writing or solving codes.” In this sense Cryptography can be seen as encrypting (writing codes) and decrypting (solving codes). When Cryptographers refer to plain text, they are referring to the original data set or a decrypted data set. When they refer to cipher text, they are referring to the encrypted message.
